Shelbyville Mutual Insurance Company, organized in 1889 as the Rose Township Farmers Mutual
Fire Insurance Company, operates pursuant to the Farm Mutual Act of 1986, with its office in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Illinois, and with the purpose of safeguarding its members, so far as possible, against loss or damage by any peril or perils resulting in physical loss or damage to property, insuring farm property, including residences and other farm buildings, and all classes of personal property in connection therewith; buildings and personal property used in the processing of agricultural products in conjunction with farming operations; residences, including household and personal effects; and churches, schools and community buildings and such property contained therein.
